Just Plug and play and system automatically detects the adapter.
Tested with my IPAD, Android Phone as well as my Windows Laptop.
I have used it for a week now and hence writing a review on the product.
I am using the adapter with my Ford EcoSport. The adapter takes 15- 20 seconds as soon as you sit in the car and turn on the ignition. It connects automatically and works flawlessly. there is no lagging in music or in navigation.
The best part is that it has Type-C dongle also and i have been using it for a week now. Battery life is amazing. No Lagging. Works perfectly on my Macbook Air m4.
